camping stools

math question..! plz help?
A store sells tents, sleeping bags, and camp stools. A customer buys a tent, 5 sleeping bags, and 4 camp stools for $242. The price of the tent is 9 times the cost of the camp stool. the cost of the sleeping back is $16 more than the cost of a camp stool. Find the cost of each item..
would you plz help set this is up and show how to do it thank you so much…
He buys:
1 Tent + 5 sleeping bags + 4 camp stools for $242.
Make t=tent, b=sleeping bag and s=stool and you have:
t + 5b + 4s = 242 ==>Substitute 9 stools for the tent:
9s + 5b + 4s = 242 ==>Substitute a stool+16 for each sleeping bag:
9s + 5(s+16) + 4s = 242 ==>Work it out:
9s + 5s + 80 + 4s = 242
18s + 80 = 242
18s = 162
s = 9
So one stool is $9.
The tent is 9 times the cost of the camp stool making it $81.
Each sleeping bag is the price of a stool + 16, or 9+16, or $25 each.
Check to make sure:
He bought one tent for $81.
He bought 5 sleeping bags for $25 each, which came to $125.
He bought 4 stools at $9 each, which came to $36.
This totals $242.
