When is the best time of the year to go camping at Stokes State forest?
I am planning a camping trip with some friends and when one of them asked where we should go, I suggested Stokes forest, where I had some wonderful trips when I was a kid. It has been a while however, and I understand that Stokes has gotten a lot more popular. what would be the best time of the year to go, taking into account the weather, (don’t want it to be too cold) and the crowds. (too many people kind of spoil the fun). any help would be appreciated.
I would go from mid-september but not later than the last week in September, thats well after the Labor Day weekend, and weather should still be fine.
