talladega tickets camping
talladega infield camping?
Can someone point me to some good information on Camping with a tent on the infield at Talladega. Bought tickets last night and this is the first time going there.
Hey Chuck what do you mean by
Ditch the tickets you bought and get the Miller infield Special seating. comes with a pit row preview, catered, booze, and TV’s.
The best thing you can do is call the track, they know all the options and prices. Talladega has a really cool interactive track map so you can see the view from your spot.
I was there last Oct. and ALL CAMPING in the infield is now reserved. But I think I saw some tents over in 3 and 4 .
they are real strict about infield activities now.
I did not go outside so you’ll have to follow the above guys for that.
If you have never camped at a Nascar race before……I hope you like people and BRING ANYTHING YOU MAY NEED the FIRST TRIP. Bring it from home, don’t wait until SAT nite to decide you need to go to the store. (i paid 20 bucks for a 12 pack of Coke. no bull, the girlfriend has to have it so…..)
Buy the local paper each day, it has all the info you need on activities around town.
Bring your own toilet paper.
Bring water in gallons so you can sponge bath if you have to.
Go in with the campers next to you and rent your own port o let. it’s like 80? for the weekend and they will service some too. (lock it at nite with a chain.)
You can roam around on foot all you want, but not in a car…..
buy a plastic pass holder for your infield passes.
Ditch the tickets you bought and get the Miller infield Special seating. comes with a pit row preview, catered, booze, and TV’s. I went back to the trailer to watch the race, but hte pit row access was cool.
Thursday edit:
The Miller Special seating I mentioned is named the Miller Paddock Club (I tihk) if you look at this track map http://www.talladegasuperspeedway.com/documents/tss_2007_facility.pdf
Then look right at the victory lane circle, you can see the Paddock Club left of it.
I sat there in Fall 06 and it was fun. Viewing of the track was VERY limited, but it had TV’s and the prerace pit pass, plus you get a parking pass to park right behind the paddaock club. So on race day you just zip into the infield and park 50 ft. from your seats.
Also on the track map I gave you you can see Tents are allowed in some sections.
The Paddock club passes where expensive, but my friend Jerry had cancer so it was the best choice for us. NO LINES.
At Talledega you can’t see from turn to turn on raceday, even with binoculars it’s hard to see the opposite turns. You can see the turn you are camped in, it’s elevated so your perfect there.
In/out access used to be very limited, as the Rv’s and stuff had to cross the track to get in.
Since you have tickets, I think you should camp outside.
Try to get on the same side as your seats, you don’t want to walk 4 miles lugging a cooler, and at Talledega that is conservative mileage.
